Lingco offers a wide range of options for creating content and activities. We recommend reading through our help guides for Instructors in general, and specifically learning about the different Activity Item Types as well as tips on Choosing Content Types.

General Tips

  • Fill-in-the-blank prompts are very versatile, allowing you to combine audio, images, video and text to create very engaging activities. They are worth exploring and understanding fully.

  • We highly recommend experimenting with the platform as you work through the guides to make sure you have a good understanding of your options.

Using an appropriate file format

When uploading images, audio, and video files for your content and activities, it's important to keep in mind that your students may not all have access to high-speed internet connections. We recommend the following file types and configurations:

Images

  • .jpg, .gif and .png file types

  • Resolution of 1920px by 1080px or less

  • File size of 2MB or less

Audio

  • .mp3 file type

  • Bitrate of 256 kbps or less

Video

  • .mp4 file type

  • Bitrate of 2 Mbps or less.

    • We've had excellent success using compression tools such as HandBrake with the "Discord Nitro Medium 5-10 Minute 720p30" preset.
