Instructors now have the ability to impersonate students in their course to see what students see ("student view"). You can select one student in your roster at a time, then click a button to see what they see in Lingco. Follow the steps below to try it out!
Step 1: Go to your course Roster
Navigate to your course, then click on Roster on the right sidebar.
Step 2: Act as Student
You can either click on the circle next to the name of a student in your course, then click the Act as Student button, or you can click on a student's name, then click Act as Student from the user's enrollment page.
After you click the button, you'll see a message pop up on your screen alerting you that you're essentially logging in as the student without a password and will be able to perform any action as if they were the one doing it. However, our audit logs will record that you're the one who performed the actions on behalf of the student. You'll click the Act as Student button to proceed.
Once you're impersonating a student, you'll see a banner at the bottom of the screen the entire time you're impersonating them. The bottom banner will also have a button in the bottom right corner to end the impersonation session.
You'll be able to navigate the platform from that student's perspective. When finished, click the Stop Acting as User button on the banner at the bottom of the screen.
After you click the Stop Acting as User button, you'll be back in your instructor account.
