LTI 1.3 Integration in Schoology

This guide walks Schoology Administrators through setting up a root-level installation of the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 integration

After installing this integration, instructors at your organization will be able to add the Lingco Classroom link to their course navigation. If instructors are unable to install their own LTI apps, the Schoology Admin can install the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 App in their courses. Then, students will be able to skip the normal registration and login process by simply clicking that link in the Schoology course. They will be automatically logged in through a linked account. If they do not already have a Lingco account, one will be created for them using their student information from Schoology.

Installing the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 App

  1. Login to Schoology as a System Administrator and click the app icon in the top navigation.

  2. Click App Center.
    ​

  3. Scroll down (or search) to find the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 App and click to open.
    ​

  4. Install the app by clicking the Install LTI 1.3 App button.
    ​

  5. Agree to the terms by clicking I Agree and then Continue.
    ​

  6. Click Add to Organization.
    ​

  7. You should be brought to the Organization Apps screen. Click Configure.
    ​

  8. Note the Deployment ID. Click Save settings
    ​

  9. Send the Deployment ID to [email protected] or Lingco's Customer Success Manager (if you've been communicating with him) so we're able to configure Lingco Classroom for your integration.

Enabling the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 App in a Course

Now that the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 App has been installed at the organization level, any instructor in that organization should see it in their App Center and be able to install it for their courses.

If instructors are unable to install their own LTI apps, the Schoology Admin can install the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 App in their courses for them.

Test the LTI 1.3 Integration

Once Lingco confirms your deployment has been configured, you may test the integration. You can impersonate a user (student or teacher), or use your own account to test the LTI app. Navigate to a course where the Lingco Classroom LTI 1.3 App is installed and click on Lingco Classroom on the left-side navigation.

Ensure that you're able to:

  • Launch the app successfully

  • Access Lingco successfully without any errors
